Blakes Building Services were engaged by a previous client to renovate and extend their existing house on their farm at Clunes, which has been owned by the family for over 100 years. The family walked from Mt Beckworth to Melbourne to pick up the titles for the farm in the 1850’s.
The family entrusted Blakes Building Services to deliver there vision of a family home for now and many years to come.
For the two storey extension, it was integral the design took advantage of uninterrupted views of Mt Beckworth. Glass sliding doors were incorporated into the ensuite where large glass windows allowed the view to flow up stairs.
The upstairs area incorporates an upstairs library/music room with glass sliding doors, which opens on to a balcony with a glass balustrade to ensure the views were not impeded.
The construction also included two home stay units of approximately 91sqm with covered verandahs adjoining the homestead.
